In a new creative and ingenious endeavor, Intel aims to prove that its processors are not just meant to power tablets used for games and social media, but can be used creatively to construct something never seen before.

To do so, Intel has employed the help of Australian agency The Monkeys of production company Finch in order to revolutionize the world of music with a project they have dubbed “Intelligent Sounds.”

The basic idea behind the project is to create a “band of tablets” where each slate is playing a different role, like controller of instruments or conductor. Tablets were prompted to play their tune after being struck by a robot arm.

Digital Creative Director Jay Gelardi explained that the original idea was to create a light and sound installation fully powered by Intel slates. The tune was made by producer Flume aka Harley Streten.

Video Director Alex Roberts added that the team chose to work with tablets for this project because they were quick and responsive and enabled them to do whatever they needed to. The whole project ended up using 60 of them in various ways.

Commenting on this artistic and creative endeavor, Jayan Murty, director of brand strategy and integrated marketing for Asia Pacific, stated that, “It is commonplace to have tablets play your music, but it's rare to have tablets create them.”
