They are low-capacity storage drives with long endurance

Solid-state drives are all well and good, but even with TRIM active, their lifespan isn't the best, especially for cloud computers, servers and other applications that need their parts to last for a long time.

That's why some use Disk-On-Modules (DOMs) instead.

BIWIN has just launched two such items, called D5211 and D5212. They are both Industrial Grade Disk-On-Modules (DOMs) with SATA support.

Capacities are of up to 16 GB. SLC (single-level cell) NAND flash chips are used, since they have higher endurance (PE Cycle as high as 100,000 times).

The DOMs can also withstand shocks of up to 100G at 6ms and vibrations of up to 10-500Hz at 4G, plus temperatures of -40°C to 85°C.

Prices will be revealed to whatever enterprise and industrial customers contact BIWIN for contracts.
