G.Skill is known for its long line of solid memory units and it seems that this latest addition is meant to uphold its history of quality solid memory. The Falcon's large cache memory, specifically 64MB, eliminates any possibility of transfer stuttering and, combined with advanced data leveling algorithms, is capable of a long, stable life. This may be part of the reason why G.Skill doesn't shrink from offering a two-year warranty on all the drives in the Falcon series.
What is especially notable about this solid memory unit is its integration of the new Indilinx ECO controller. Through it, the Falcon II can perfectly match any 34nm NAND flash memory, which provides the high data density that makes this product affordable. The Falcon comes in 64GB, 128GB and 256 GB memory capacities. Combining the high cache with the 34nm technology, the 64GB model can reach Read/Write speeds of 220/110MB/sec, while the two larger versions boast an interesting 220/150MB/sec.
Another advantage of these new products is the latest Indilinx 1819 version firmware. This feature provides the SSD with support for the TRIM protocols offered by Windows 7. In supporting the latest incarnation of the Windown OS, G.Skill's SSD completes its collection of appealing features and will likely become a preference of buyers when it finally makes it to the store shelves.
