Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, the wife of Indian Minister Shashi Tharoor, was found dead in a hotel room in New Delhi after hacking her husband’s Twitter account and writing several messages to a Pakistani journalist.

What appeared to be just another Twitter account hacking by pranksters has turned out to be a dramatic story.

Earlier this week, Shashi Tharoor announced that his Twitter account had been hacked after several romantic messages were written from it to Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.

Despite claiming that he was happily married to his wife, it later turned out that Sunanda had actually been the one who hacked the account in an effort to expose an affair her husband was having with Tarar, the Daily Mail reports.

At one point, Sunanda even named the Pakistani journalist a spy. She was reportedly preparing to divorce the Indian politician when she was found dead in her hotel room.

It’s uncertain how the 52-year-old died. She might have committed suicide, but police are taking into consideration other scenarios as well, including poisoning and death caused by a heart attack.
