On Wednesday, law enforcement from the Mumbai Crime Branch in India have arrested 29-year-old Nikhil Pable, a hacker whose name appears on the FBI’s wanted list.

According to NDTV, the man – arrested in Andheri – is suspected of breaching the websites of renowned firms. He allegedly stole data from their servers and sold it in India.

Storage units and laptops have been seized by authorities from Pable’s residence.

“The agency sent a request through the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, which in turn got in touch with the Mumbai Police. The case and its details were transferred to the Crime Branch, whose investigations led to Pable's arrest,” a police officer involved in the investigation said.

Although the FBI has been tracking his activity for quite some time now, it’s uncertain if he will be extradited to the US, or if he’ll face trial in India.
