Instead of issuing some long press release to announce the appearance of its new IdeaPad laptop, Lenovo seems to have quietly provided the necessary information on the U260, a very slim laptop set to come out soon.

Even with most of the populace's attention focused on NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580 graphics card and its various incarnations, there are still companies that have no qualms about making announcements about 'totally' different things.

While AMD's preview of the Brazos platform can be understood as a ploy to draw some attention away from NVIDIA, other products have also made their debut today.

Lenovo is now looking ready to add a bit more variety to the market by delivering the IdeaPad U260, what looks very much like an Intel-powered ultraportable mobile personal computer.

Unfortunately, there is, at this time, no sort of information on the pricing and availability, except for the fact that Mocha Brown and Clementine Orange will be the two available color options.

This is a laptop with a screen diagonal of 12.5 inches and a thickness of just 0.71 inches, which only adds to the appeal of the magnesium-alloy enclosure.

At the heart of the personal computer lies an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 ULV (ultra-low voltage) central processing unit.

Said CPU is backed up by up to 4 GB of RAM while storage space is provided by a hard disk drive whose internal capacity is of 320 GB.

Also, in addition to integrated graphics, the Lenovo IdeaPad U260 features Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi.

As for connectivity to auxiliary displays, Lenovo threw in a D-Sub and an HDMI output.

All of these components are kept operational by a 4-cell battery which can, according to the report that revealed this machine, last for up to 4 hours on a single charge.
