When Hello Games, creators of the popular Joe Danger series, announced they would make a sci-fi adventure video game called No Man’s Sky everyone got very excited knowing their previous work.

However, No Man’s Sky and Joe Danger are completely different games. The upcoming title in the works at Hello Games will provide players with a procedurally-generated open universe to explore. Moreover, players will have complete freedom to go anywhere they want and explore what planets they wish, as long as they can get there.

What we know

The Brits at Hello Games, Sean Murray and David Ream, have already unveiled quite a lot when it comes to No Man’s Sky universe and gameplay mechanics. Putting all these details together, we can definitely say that No Man’s Sky is shaping up into an epic game.

As we mentioned before, No Man’s Sky will allow players to explore an open universe which is procedurally generated, so people will have different experiences.

You’re not going to be able to explore just the surface of a planet. Developers have come up with the crazy idea that we should be allowed to explore the deep oceans, the flora and fauna on each planet if we want to, which makes No Man’s Sky even more exciting.

Even though the game will be playable offline, the multiplayer aspect of No Man’s Sky will add to the overall experience. Interactions between players will be kept to a minimum, as multiplayer will not be a direct focus of the action.

So, each player will be starting their adventures from a random point near the edge of the universe and their main objective will be to make their way to the center.

You will be able to upgrade your ship to help you reach far away planets and do space battles. As you progress towards the center of the universe, you will have access to more resources for your ship. Collecting, selling and trading these resources will be the keys to success in No Man’s Sky.

Why it matters

No Man Sky’s has already won lots of awards from the critics even and is now among the most anticipated games for 2015. Creating such a complex game should be a challenge for any developer, but Hello Games do seem to have all the ingredients to make No Man’s Sky an epic game.

The level of attention to exploration, research and trading are among the strongest points of the game, along with the size of the universe that players are offered the chance to explore.

Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky is expected to be released sometime in 2015 on PlayStation 4, but it will arrive on PC as well.
