The development team at InXile is delivering another update for its upcoming Wasteland 2, which offers more information on the state of the game although it does stop short of giving an actual launch date for the game.

Brian Fargo, the leader of the studio, writes on Kickstarter that, “We know better than to give an exact date at this point because in addition to pushing the game in the ways we’d planned, we’re going to continue to incorporate player comments that make sense for us to address. But we are in the final stretch, and are thankful our backers have consistently agreed we should take the time we need.”

He says that the team will continue to offer more details about Wasteland 2 as development continues and the entire company is trying to make sure that it creates the best game experience possible.

Fargo says that the PC and the Mac versions of the title will be available at the same time and that the Linux port might be slightly delayed.

The game maker also thanks all gamers who have been part of the beta testing phase for Wasteland 2, because they have pointed out problems with the experience that InXile moved fast to address in order to realize the ambitions of the title.

Fargo adds, “One might argue that it’s more ambitious than it needed to be but from the outset we wanted to create a classic that would hold a spot in your mind along with the other top RPGs of our time. We know we have some big shoes to fill and we want to push the envelope for what makes a great RPG.”

Wasteland 2 will offer a party-based role-playing experience set in a post-apocalyptic world, with gamers able to use a variety of skills and abilities in order to solve quests and defeat enemies.
