InFamous: Second Son, the action title from developer Sucker Punch and publisher Sony, has managed to remain at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart for the second week in a row, mainly because no other big title was released in order to challenge it.

The title is only offered on the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony, which makes its domination an even more impressive feat, and given the relative paucity of new games in the coming weeks, the experience has the chance to rack up a few more weeks in the lead.

InFamous: Second Son was supposed to be a launch title for the next-gen device, but it was pushed back in order to give Sucker Punch the time it needed to make sure that the quality of the game was up to standards.

The title allows players to control a new character called Delsin and has only minimal connection with the two previous titles in the series.

Reviewers and customers have praised the quality action mechanics and the way it allows players to use the range of superpowers that the protagonist can access.

According to UKIE, second place in the United Kingdom belongs, again for the second week in a row, to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the new title directed by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami.

The title might be short, but fans of the franchise are buying it because it shows off the entirely new Fox Engine, which is designed to use the power of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, and because it sets up the events that will take place in the upcoming The Phantom Pain.

The last place on the podium is occupied once more by Titanfall, the first-person shooter with a multiplayer focus from developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts.

The title has recently received a major matchmaking update and the teams have promised to deliver new game modes soon via patches.

In fourth position, we find FIFA 14, the EA Sports made football sim, which has managed to gain two places and is probably benefiting from the very exciting end to the Premier League.

The LEGO Movie Video Game has also made a solid jump and landed in fifth place coming from eight and is followed by the only new launch of the top ten, the Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 that Blizzard has launched.

The South Park title is in seventh, followed by Call of Duty: Ghosts and Minecraft on the Xbox 360, while Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster closes down the UK top ten.
