Good to know there will be some competition for the Wii

In2Games has a habit of combining gaming hardware with the latest software to create a state of the art gaming experience. They've just confirmed specific details of a substantial cash injection, which they intend to use to bring its wireless motion sensing peripherals to a range of new formats, including PS3 and Xbox 360. Good bye Wii!

The official report says that In2Games has received no more and no less than ?7.4 million in return for a significant equity stake in the business. Basically, they have to make plans of releasing its wireless motion sensing controllers across PS3 and Xbox 360 a reality.

Gametrak Fusion is the codename for the firm's premier technology, which will launch with a selection of bespoke mini games for Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 - says the report - with a large number of titles in all genres to follow. Gametrak Fusion is said to be a remarkable ultrasonic 3D motion sensing technology which delivers performance, control and flexibility far in excess of that offered by existing wireless peripherals. Better than the Wiimote...? Hard to believe.

They're confident in the technology's success though, as Patrick McKenna, Director of IMAC reckons that "there is a really exciting opportunity ahead for In2Games to capitalise on key drivers of change in the video games market as they continue to roll out innovative hardware combined with great software. In Gametrak Fusion, In2Games has created the definitive motion gaming platform for the next generation of games consoles and I look forward to this product driving the company into its most exciting period yet."

Good to know that there will be some competition for the Wii with this new Gametrak Fusion thing. I was getting kind of tired of hearing about Nintendo's most innovative controller and all that crap. The Wii Remote is great, I agree, but let's all just give it a rest now, it's not the perfect console, you know.
