Since we have a lot of programs that handle management tasks available, there's nothing out of the ordinary to find out about such a software application designed for use in the medical environment.

The program I want to tell you about today comes from Database Constructs, a company located in Renton Washington founded back in 1998. Its name is Med-Center, and was recently updated to version 4.3. Before telling you about the pricing and availability, I think that a few words about this program's features would fit really well, so let's see what we have here...

Med-Center is a multi user, cross platform (besides Mac, Windows versions are also available) medical practice bulling and medical records system for small and medium size offices and clinics. Designed to assist medical staff in providing best services to their patients, Med-Center has an easy to use interface that allows beginners and users to manage the complex office tasks with minimal training.

A fully integrated application, Med-Center is able to work "right out of the box", being extremely easy to setup, while its simple administration leads to lower maintenance costs and less training, providing "one of the best trouble-free systems on the market", according to its producer.

This software package uses a scalable architecture backed by a powerful database engine that allows multiple simultaneous users, as well as wireless network connections. At last, there's also the fact that Med-Center is capable of creating HIPAA compliant 4010A1 professional claims, and that virtually any clearinghouse can accept and process E-claims created using it.

The client software for the Mac needs Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later, 1 GB of hard drive space and 512 MB of RAM and a network connection, being available as a Universal Binary. Its price is 550$, but a demo version is available for free, and you can get it from Softpedia here.
