14 DAY TRIAL // Since the Mountain View company announced that it has reached an agreement to buy Postini, we all knew this would bring several features and updates for the Google products. First of all, Postini means better security for the mail technologies because it is a company focused on email, instant messaging and several other web solutions. Secondly, Postini comes as a great addition to Google Apps, the well-known Google products which attracted lots of businesses. A few days ago, the Google representatives confirmed they received the OK to complete the deal so the migration could begin. Today, Scott Petry, the founder of Postini, talked about the acquisition of his company which is regarded as one of the best moves on the market.
As I said, we all expected to see lots of features bundled into the Google technologies and the Postini official confirms the expectations. In fact, Postini already became one of the main products added to Google Apps Premier Edition, a move which is supposed to give the businesses more security for their solutions.
"Postini security and compliance capabilities are officially part of Google Apps Premier Edition. Google Apps customers get these services for free. Postini customers get an extended trial period for Apps. New customers can choose their entry point: Apps (including Postini security and compliance) or any of the standalone Postini services," Scott Petry wrote today on the official blog.
"The benefits of software as a service are numerous -- that's why we're seeing a huge interest in Apps. Businesses of all sizes are asking for these services, and we need to help customers embrace Apps without loss of features, functions, or security. I'm proud that Postini plays a role in this offering."
