An interesting image created by the popular YouTube channel Vsauce reveals an unexpected fact: there aren't enough humans on our planet to fill the Grand Canyon.

Actually, if every human being in the world would pile up in the Grand Canyon, the entire world's population would only form a tiny pile and occupy a rather small part of it, as the fascinating graphic shows.

To me, the comparatively small pile of humans looks just like an ant-hill, so one thing is certain – the world is surprisingly big.

And maybe 7.2 billion humans (that's how many people are currently alive on Earth) is not much, but 106 billion it is. However, the creator of the rendering reveals that even if all of humanity across all ages (106 billion human beings, that is) would pile up, they would form about 15 piles similar to the one above, which wouldn't manage to cover the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, located in Arizona, United States.

The Grand Canyon is often considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The national park covers 1,217,262 acres (492,608 ha) in Coconino and Mohave counties.

The image is part of an interesting video, in which Vsauce tries to figure out how many things there are on the planet. Watch the clip in its entirety below.
