Blogger is one of the biggest blogging sites there is, as you well know. And also as you well know, it was Google's toy that it gave us, the children on the internet, to play with. Be it witty approach to old subjects or discovering new ones, a snappy quarrel with your friends, maybe unknown readers or just sobbing over the loss of your better half, a blog is a friend in need and thus a friend indeed.

In case you haven't ever used a blog before, which is highly unlikely if you're surfing the web, most of them are structured like this: picture, text, picture, text. Either can be missing, or you might have entries only in text or only in photos, it's entirely up to you. Now, guess what papa Google decided to do just now instead of like? forever. It thought in its unlimited wisdom to start, and I emphasize that "start", indexing the images posted on the blogs.

This may be in connection with Google recently starting indexing the images on Picasa, and knowing that the images uploaded fro Blogger's interface are hosted at Picasa Web Albums? Do the math. Ionut Alex. Chitu observed that "Another Blogger oddity, inherited from Picasa Web, is that you can't directly link to an image. Blogger even has a workaround for this silly restriction: it automatically creates web pages that include the pictures".

The one restriction, if I may call it that, about the searching thingy is that images uploaded before the latest major upgrade to Blogger are still not crawlable and nobody was available for a comment on that matter. You "old" bloggers might still have to wait for that to happen, but the steps in that direction have been made. If you weren't doing this by now, then it would be a good time to suddenly become religious and start praying for it.
