Having already looked at the upper end of the quality spectrum with the LG UltraWide monitors, we may as well check out the other side of the display market.

Behold Iiyama's 17-inch ProLite E1780SD, which has the astonishing resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels.

Yes, it's that low. The company bet on energy efficiency here, managing to keep power draw at 14W, so image quality was sacrificed.

Since this is the sort of display suited for office work, it's understandable enough, although the price of $144 / €144 might be a little off-putting.

At least the Iiyama ProLite E1780SD has a normal response time (5 ms) and contrast ratio (1000:1). Even the brightness is decent, albeit not spectacular (250 cd/m2).
