Japanese company Iiyama has begun to break the hearts of customers outside its home market, as its products exhibit a quality high enough to make people wish its products would sell overseas.

We aren't sure if the ProLite XB2485WSU will be exclusive to Japan or not, but we hope it won't be.

Though the price could be lower (35,800 JPY / $457 / 352 Euro), the IPS LCD panel, the LED backlighting and the ECO mode justify it quite fully.

In that order, those features provide wide viewing angles (178 degrees), good brightness for little power, and an extra boost to energy efficiency (ECO mode cuts power draw by up to 48%).

All in all, the 24.1-inch display can operate on just 36W of energy, but can exhibit a brightness of up to 300 cd/m2 in a pinch, plus a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (16:10 aspect ratio).

Finally, the response time is of 5ms, the video inputs are DisplayPort, DVI, D-Sub and HDMI, and Iiyama added a pair of 3W stereo speakers for good measure. Sales will begin on October 12.
