Michael Madsen also makes an appearance, gets to rock the latest in cowboy chic

The music video for Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora’s collaboration “Black Widow” has just dropped, and as you can see below, it plays out like a shorter, less violent, and definitely less impressive version of Quentin Tarantino’s classic movie “Kill Bill.”

Michael Madsen too makes an appearance, and for it he gets to rock the latest in cowboy chic fashion. He’s Rita’s lover and he’s obnoxious, demeaning, and a cheater too, hitting on the manager of a diner with Rita standing right in front of him.

So, because he’s basically a douche, Iggy’s character, a waitress, and Rita go on a killing rampage.

The video is beautifully shot but no amount of quick editing and hair flipping can hide the fact that these two pop stars, no matter how good they look in their leather unitards and posing with their swords, haven’t got the faintest idea of how to wield them, let alone make convincing actresses as regards fight sequences.

There’s also a feeling that this video was supposed to be more but either it was cut more than it should have been in post-production or the concept for it wasn’t good from the start. Unlike other “Kill Bill”-inspired videos (and there are plenty of those), this one seems to lack a story.

I can’t believe Iggy would take out her sword just because a customer was mean to her and her manager made her go and make him another bacon and cheese sandwich.

The song is quite catchy though, to end this on a positive note. Check it out.
