Iggy Azalea hasn't been having a good month. She has been the subject of a few controversies, all of them connected with her past. It seems that one of her ex-boyfriends is determined to cash in on the fact that he was once in a relationship with the Australian rapper.

But now Iggy is talking about her “divorce” for the first time as she went on Twitter to vent her frustration and set the record straight. Former boyfriend Hefe Wine is now claiming that the two were in a common law marriage, and as such, he now wants to get a divorce which would naturally entitle him to half of her earnings.

Iggy points out that Hefe is just after the money, complains that this “common law marriage” thing is just a scam

Iggy began her rant with an ominous “let's talk,” and after that she began expressing her point of view on the so-called marriage with a series of tweets. She goes on to explain that “real cases are handled in court, not the press,” adding that “I've settled 2 old contracts privately. Both got a very fair sums & went on about their lives (sic).”

She is referring to the fact that Hefe is bent on getting the media's attention for the case, presumably for the extra cash for providing tabloids and gossip sites with confidential information. Iggy points out that “My lawyer agreed to be served ‘divorce’ papers but they want to hire someone to serve me in person, probably so it can be another TMZ story.”

Wine made threats to reveal embarrassing details to the press if Iggy didn't settle out of court

In a shocking development, Iggy warns that her “husband” threatened her to go to the press and say that she gave Wine an STD if she didn't agree to settle out of court. This shows that Hefe Wine is not afraid to play all his cards to make sure that he gets the money.

With a bitter tone, Iggy explains to her followers that, according to the law, all you need to prove that there was a “common law marriage” going on between two people is the sworn testimony of three of your friends.

The rapper was determined to unearth some of Wine's more dubious affairs from his shady past as well. She goes on to reveal that the mother of his 3-year-old child is also in court right now, trying to get a restraining order, saying that she was head-butted, staled and strangled when she tried to end their 7-year relationship. “Why is her truth being overlooked in favor of sensationalism? It makes me so sad & my heart goes to Annette Buitrago,” Iggy wondered.

Finally, she deals a blow to Wine's theory that they've been married for the past three years by saying that she hasn't been down in Texas, where Wine lives, for 5 years and that whenever she goes down there, she always has police protection and armed bodyguards “evidently for good reason,” she adds.
