Your kid won't go missing with this thing on, and it's easy to use too

Children going missing is one of the most common adult fears, which is why there are several different tracking devices that can be hung around their necks or wrists. One such item has just been released by a Finnish company called Yepzon.

As is often the case with startup companies, their first item is called the same as the company name. Long story short, Yepzon is one of the easiest to use and most reliable child tracking devices.

It would be nasty if a kidnapper knew enough to look for and get rid of the thing. However, if they don't, you'll be able to track your child even across the globe. Same for when they get lost for whatever reason.

A Yepzon unit can be assigned to a family member by taking a photo of the person or just giving it a name. The info is stored in a cloud server, which is why they can be tracked anywhere. The Internet is, literally, the limit.

Bluetooth technology offers short-range locator information, while GPS/Glonass satellite positioning does the rest, along with mobile phone network location.

Moreover, Yepzon can be paired with any Android, iOS, or Windows mobile device (there are apps for all three) via NFC.

All in all, not bad for a device that weighs 60 grams / 2 ounces and can tie to any garment via a sturdy string. The battery should last for three months, thanks to internal sensor-driven sleep modes.

Sales of Yepzon will begin in Finland by the end of the year, for a still unknown price. Until then, the company is looking for at least 50 global field testers.
