It will allow you and your friends to end the summer season on a high note

September first is just a little over two weeks away now, which means that you're probably setting up the year's Labor Day barbecue. If you are, you might want to indulge in some fruity alcoholic beverages, like watermelon liquor.

If you took the time, earlier in the year, to inject some alcohol into a few watermelons, or if you just plan to open up one and pour alcohol into it, you're in luck: Robo3D, at the behest of Household Hacker, have designed a tap specifically for them.

The tap is a 3D printed object that you will only need to “stab” your watermelon with. After that, you'll be able to pour drinks to everyone from your new watermelon keg.

You'll have to download the model from Thingiverse and use your own 3D printer to make it, or ask a friend or a 3D printing service to do it. There are five different parts to it, but they can be made at the same time, in an hour and a half.

Once you have it, you only need to carve a small hole into the watermelon, near the base, half as wide as the tap's diameter.

Even after the watermelon drink is gone, you can fill the “keg” with ice and whatever other drink you might enjoy and just keep on pouring.
