It was a special moment during the 2014 Oscar ceremony when John Travolta introduced singer Idina Menzel as “Adele Dazeem,” and by special we mean funny and awkward at the same time. It was funny for everyone present and people watching from home and it was embarrassing for John Travolta and Idina Menzel.

Now, weeks after the incident that turned Travolta into an overnight Internet sensation with memes and applications that let you “travoltify” your name, Idina has finally chosen to speak up about the incident and it's not as bad as you might think.

Whereas many celebrities out there would have blasted Travolta for such a monumental goof, Idina just chose to “Let It Go,” if we're to quote the name of the song that earned her an Oscar this year.

Speaking with Billboard Magazine, Idina said, “He was really gracious and sent this gorgeous email, and we're buddies and it's all cool,” adding that the 60-year-old actor even sent flowers as a form of apology.

The 42-year-old singer who is famous on Broadway recalled the fateful moment when Travolta flubbed the introduction and admitted that she was taken aback for a second and momentarily lost her focus, but eventually, she pulled through and gave a wonderful performance of “Let It Go,” the song taken from the nominated animation “Frozen.”

In her interview, she laughs about it: “[it] threw me for a minute. But then I just got back on track and reminded myself of where I was, and what a beautiful moment it was.”

She now credits the unfortunate event with turning out to be a surprise because of the attention it got her, so she bears no ill feelings towards a very remorseful Travolta. In fact, the actor was so affected by his mistake that he put out a public apology.

“He was really gracious and sent this gorgeous email, and we're buddies and it's all cool,” the singer reveals as she vehemently dismisses any personal hurt she might be feeling. “Please. I mean, I've only benefited from it.”

In it, he jokingly concluded that “I've been beating myself up all day. Then I thought ... what would Idina Menzel say? She'd say, ‘Let it go, let it go!’”

Menzel is now promoting her new Broadway show called “If/Then,” which she warns is not for children as it tell the story of a woman in her 40s that has an unplanned pregnancy after which she tries to make love with three guys in one night.
