Sierra Entertainment announced today that Ice Age 2 The Meltdown video game is currently in development for Nintendo's upcoming Wii console. Based on 20th Century Fox blockbuster animated film, Ice Age 2 The Meltdown is expected to take full advantage of Wii-mote's unique capabilities. The title is currently available for PC and most current generation consoles: Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Gamecube, DS or GameBoy Advance. Just like they did with the movie, Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary and Jay Leno lend their voice acting talent to Ice Age 2 The Meltdown Wii reiteration. Expect a truly cinematic experience, to be available in stores during this holiday season.

"Ice Age is an amazing franchise and the perfect fit for Nintendo's next generation platform. Ice Age 2 promises to utilize the Wii's specs to the fullest capacity for a great gaming experience. Thanks to the cooperation of much of the voice talent from the film, fans will get to explore a true extension of one of the year's biggest blockbuster" said Elie Dekel from Fox.

Once again, we find our furry heroes taking on the challenges of an ending Ice Age, across a melting paradise filled with geysers, water parks and tar pits. Manny the Mammoth, Sid the Sloth and Diego the Sabre-Toothed Tiger make a comeback, complemented by the ever elusive and unlucky squirrel Scrat, only to further extend the movie adventures. Fans are able to play their favorite characters and embark on a mission over the increasingly dangerous glacier. At the end of the path lies either salvation or a doom of frozen waters threatening to flood the entire valley. Hilarious arcade style gameplay will keep you glued to your armchair during this voyage through the complete Ice Age universe.
