The projector market just saw a couple of new additions on the part of InFocus, a company that decided it was high time a certain product line, named IN5300, grew somewhat.

The projector market has definitely been seeing new members lately, like the Portable PLED-W500 from ViewSonic and the NEC PH1000U. Now, InFocus is making its name heard once more, by releasing the IN5312 and the IN5314.

They are the latest additions to the IN5300 series and can connect to Mac systems and personal computers, whether running Microsoft's Windows operating system or a version of Linux OS.

“The IN5300 series of projectors are designed to fit the unique needs of professional installations in a wide-range of venues,” said Dave Duncan, InFocus product line manager.

“With customizable features and settings, customers can easily install a projector to perfectly fit their desired space, often without moving legacy projector mounts and never having to compromise image quality.”

For those that want the specifications list, complete with numbers, InFocus did include some details in its press announcement.

The contrast ratio, for instance, is of 2,000:1, while the brightness can go as high as 4,500 lumens. Considering that they both are capable of displaying 3D images, this is in no way a minor feat.

The InFocus IN5312 has 4,500 lumens and a 4.3 aspect ratio, plus a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels.

Meanwhile, the 5314, though it has a higher resolution (1,280 x 800 pixels) and the 16:10 aspect ratio, has a lower brightness (4,000 lumens).

This is probably the reason why the company offers the newcomers for the same price ($3,500).

Finally, though their resolutions differ, they both support 720p image quality and are aimed at the same sort of large venues, like classrooms, houses of worship and conference rooms.
