The ZegnaSport Solar jacket just loves the sun. Why wouldn't it, when it uses the latest solar power system, which is so much recommended these days, especially because of its green quality. The latest trend in the industry involves mixing the green power technology with trendy clothes.

And when I say fashion, my mind goes to Italy. This time, it's Ermenegildo Zegna, the Italian designer, who came up with the idea of creating a solar jacket. And now, ladies and gentlemen raise your hats to his official latest fashion item: the ZegnaSport Solar jacket, designed to keep all your electronic devices such as iPod and cellphones juiced up, since the coat sports many integrated solar cells carefully fitted into the neoprene collar with electricity generated through the conducting textile cables to a diminutive lithium-ion storage battery.

For a complete recharge of the jacket, the owner has to wait for approximately eight hours, translated to just 4 hours of juice for your phone and iPod. Zegna Sport continues to offer cutting edge innovation, through the development of the innovative Bluetooth iJacket, which is a technical advancement of the iJAcket version 2.0. This new collection seems to open the new trend for the "communication clothing", since it is capable of enabling the wearer to use the cell phone, the MP3 player, and total management through the sleeve control panel.

And there is more to it. The iJacket sports Bluetooth interface and integrated microphone on its collar, that allows dialing and easy phone conversations to be interchanged with music. So, as an incoming call is received, the music volume drops to notify the wearer. After that, the sleeve control panel automatically switches the functionality to the phone control mode.

The ZegnaSport Solar Jacket is said to be released as part of the Zegna's 2008 summer collection, so we shouldn't expect the i-jacket to be affordable in the near future. Just as the latest iPod suit, this iJacket uses the latest wearable electronic technology from Eleksen. The Zegna Sport 'upgraded' also the original iJACKET to a leather version, for richer customers, available in luxurious soft brown or black Nappa in a washed vintage look, with the iPod control panel laser embossed on the sleeve. Sounds dandy to me!
