It looks like something from a science fiction movie involving aliens

Toshiba's laptops and tablets may capture most of the attention at IFA 2013, but that doesn't mean they're the only ones on site.

In fact, there are some items that should get recognition because they're small, rather than staying out of sight.

The TY-SP1EU(W) is one such device, a wireless, portable speaker that looks like a fat flying saucer.

It can easily be held in one's palm and uses Bluetooth 3.0 to link to anything, from phones to car entertainment systems.

The speaker output is of 3W, and there's even a built-in microphone, for hands-free phone usage.

Not only that, but the battery life is quite long as well (8 hours at 75% volume level).
