Lenovo, the world’s number one PC maker, has just announced the upcoming availability of the Vibe X high-end Android smartphone.

Even though it cannot compete with the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z1, Lenovo Vibe X offers a solid alternative to those who cannot afford a top of the line Android handset.

The bad news is that Lenovo does not have plans to launch the Vibe X in Europe. Instead, the phone will be limited to markets where the company already sells its mobile products.

According to fonearena, Lenovo Vibe X will be released in China in October, while the rest of the countries will get it in early December. No word on the price yet, but it will certainly be cheaper than Galaxy Note 3 and Xperia Z1.

Aside from its really sleek form factor, the Vibe X boasts a stunning 5-inch full HD IPS “20/20 Vision” capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The phone’s display features 440ppi (pixel density) and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the inside, Lenovo Vibe X is equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal memory. Users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while the 5-megapixel front-facing camera comes with an 88-degree wide angle lens.

Other highlights of the phone include 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP support and GPS with AGPS. The phone is powered by a 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

The Vibe X is only 6.9mm thin and weighs 121g (battery included). The smartphone will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system onboard.
