This release marks the latest standout between LG and Samsung

LG and Samsung both held large-scale launch evens before IFA 2013 actually opened. Having already covered Samsung's curved 4K OLED collection, LG's must, naturally, follow.

The two companies continue trying to outdo each other, but since, spec-wise, the TVs can't differ that much (resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, super-slim profiles, OLED technology), the distinction must be made at the level of design and style.

Samsung gave its models a thin bezel and an easel-like frame.

LG kept the thin bezel (1mm), and the 4 mm thickness, but gave its invention a transparent, glass stand instead of a black frame.

That said, the LG products come in up to 77 inches. The price of the largest one could near $20,000 / €20,000, since the 55-inch version is rated at $15,000 / €15,000.

Don't hold your breath waiting for it though. The 77-inch model is just a proof of concept for now.
