It may have been last month that Sony made the official introduction of its new flagship digital camera, but now the product has really shown its capabilities, during IFA 2011.

Sony is one of the many IT players from around the world that convened in Berlin, Germany, for the 2011 edition of the IFA show.

It actually showed off quite a few devices there, especially on the mobile front, such as smartphones, walkmen and, of course, tablets.

A couple of our fellow editors are actually on site at the event, and they managed to snatch pictures of all of them, the tablets being the P and S, who we even caught on video.

It turns out that the same company also had some photo and video cameras up for display there.

One of them, the NEX-7, we were able to take some shots of, so that prospective customers can gaze upon it in all its glory.

Back in August, when Sony made the formal introduction, it said that this was easily the new flagship of its mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (ILC) line.

The OLED viewfinder with a resolution of 1024 x 768-pixels (WXGA) is the one asset that makes it unique.

Then again, the Exmor APS CMOS 24.3 megapixel sensor alone can be considered sufficient to secure the aforementioned title of flagship.

As one already no doubt expects, the NEX-7 is fully ready for 1080 / 60p AVCHD video capture, although they might be surprised by the redesigned "Tri-Navi" interface.

As had been already stated, November is when shipments will commence, for the price of $1,200, or $1,350 if buyers opt for an exclusive black 18-55mm zoom lens.

Those who want to compare the NEX-7 can also look at this Samsung digital camera and Fujifilm's X10, among other things (the full IFA 2011 hand-on experience can be found here).

Note: Fellow editors Cosmin Vasile and Sorin Nita are on the floor at the 2011 IFA Show and are keeping us posted with pictures and live reports on the latest product previews and launches.
