Heidi Montag says she fears her nose will fall off unless she wears surgical tape over it at all times

After being photographed with surgical tape over her nose, reality star Heidi Montag explains in a new interview she’s only following doctor’s orders because she doesn’t want her nose to fall off like it happened to Michael Jackson.

For a few days now, excerpts from Heidi’s interview with Life & Style magazine have kept on surfacing in the media – and all of them tackle either her drastic surgical makeover or her divorce from Spencer Pratt.

This time, though, Heidi doesn’t talk about how she wants a makeunder because she’s no longer happy with her plastic body and face, but about the lengths she has to go to to ensure her face doesn’t fall apart.

Paps spotted the star the other day with what looked with surgical tape over her nose, which, understandably, prompted speculation about how she had had more work done on it.

Far from it, Heidi says, she’s only following the orders of her surgeon, who passed away last week. He told her the nose takes one year of healing and, unless she wants it to change shape, she should wear the band as much as possible.

“Except for filming and a few photo shoots, I’ve had my nose tape on 24 hours a day since November. It takes a year for your nose to heal. This is just the first photo that anyone has seen of it,” Heidi explains for the mag.

Even if she’s not happy about her looks now, that’s not to say she’s looking to go through the same horrible experience as Michael Jackson and have her nose fall off in public.

To avoid that from happening, she must wear the tape at all times. “The last time I didn’t wear tape after surgery and my nose changed shape,” she explains.

“The tape is supposed to keep the swelling down and hold my nose in place the way Dr. Ryan sculpted it. Dr. Ryan always said I was his best, most cautious patient,” Heidi says.

“I’m not taking any chances now that he’s gone. I don’t want my face to fall off like Michael Jackson’s,” the reality star adds for the same publication.
