Star defends his fashion sense

Cristiano Ronaldo is, in his own words, probably the sharpest dresser in showbiz and, of course, the football world. Good looks and plenty of confidence, as well as not being afraid of what other people might think, have given the star the right to say he can wear pink and even put flowers in his hair if that’s what he wants, as a new piece in The Sun reveals.

As most of us already know by now, Ronaldo has often been criticized for his choice of outfits, which have even been deemed so off the wall that not even the eccentric Elton John would dare don. However, perhaps this is what Cristiano wants in the first place, he says in a recent interview in which the question of why he chose to wear a pink cap and flower, matched to a pair of the shortest and tightest white shorts ever while on vacation a couple of days ago also popped up. The answer is simple: for one, because he can and looks good as he does and, secondly, because he aims to be different.

“I don’t know why people are so interested in what I wear on holiday.” Ronaldo is quoted as saying. At the same time, while people pay a lot of attention to his outfits, they’re also oblivious to the fact that, of the lot, he’s probably the smartest dresser. “Have you seen what people in LA wear? I was the most normal dressed person over there. Anyway, what’s wrong with wearing tight pants? They look good and it’s better than having tan lines down your legs.” Ronaldo says.

As for choosing a pink hat and matching flower while taking in the Sun while on the recent holiday, there is clearly nothing wrong with that, and only a man with not enough confidence in himself would say otherwise, the football star believes. As far as he is concerned, having the confidence and the body to pull off any look literally gives him the right to be as outrageous as he wants to be – after all, he is the best dressed man around, as he revealed in an older interview.

“This year it was the pink hat with the flower. I don’t see what is wrong with it. I can see why […] you might not wear it. But I’m very comfortable so it’s not a problem for me. Men wear pink these days. OK, not many men wear flowers, but it’s good to be different.” Ronaldo says. “Am I the best dresser at Manchester United? Yes, I would like to think I am.” the football star exclaimed a while back.
