After years of not releasing any sort of concrete details, Ubisoft has seen a gameplay trailer, alongside some screenshots of its I Am Alive game be leaked onto the web, showcasing just how the title might actually look like.

Ubisoft has kept its long-in-development I Am Alive title under a tight lid, releasing just an old CGI trailer many years ago, proclaiming that the game will bring innovative mechanics and a great story to players.

Since its announcement back in 2008, not a lot has been revealed, with Ubisoft limiting itself to saying that the game is still in development while declining to actually pin a release date on it.

Now, the first actual gameplay footage of I Am Alive has been leaked, alongside a few screenshots that depict the game's inventory systems as well as the post apocalyptic environments that make up the virtual world of the title.

The video showcases the core gameplay of I Am Alive, which combines cover-based third-person shooting, as seen in Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: Conviction, for example, with open world exploration, climbing and stealth, as seen in the company's hit Assassin's Creed franchise.

All these gameplay elements are placed in a post-apocalyptic scenario, in which a giant earthquake devastates Chicago, leaving its residents quite scared and very dangerous.

Things will be pretty tough for the playable character, as it seems that everyone is fighting everyone in the aftermath of the disaster, and it's up to him to bring justice and uncover the truth about the earthquake.

The trailer mentions that the footage is from an earlier build of I Am Alive, so, until Ubisoft actually makes a comment or releases an official video, take it with a grain of salt.
