Hyundai is a company well known around the world for its cars, and less for the fact that it also makes and sells mobile phones, yet the manufacturer already has some handsets on the European market. Since September last year, Hyundai has delivered around 15 mobile phones into different European countries, including Germany, and now we learn that it also plans on entering the cell-phone market in the UK.

The company announced that it planned to offer around ten to fifteen new handsets every year onto the UK market, and that the first model to launch in the country should come out of production in the first half of the year.

Hyundai hasn't unveiled too many details regarding its entrance on the UK mobile market until now, yet it stated that the move would be part of its Business handset sector and that it would work in the Windows Mobile area. The company's handsets are expected to cover four other sectors of the market as well, including Basic, Music, Lifestyle and Innovation.

According to some voices over the Web, a Basic phone from Hyundai should come without a camera or 3G capabilities, while a Music model is likely to include a large storage capacity and also sport music download capabilities.

One of the company’s already existing phones, the MB400, features a touch-sensitive display, camera, Micro SD storage and Bluetooth connectivity, while resembling a lot an iPod when it comes to design. Another model, the MB500, also previously launched, is a slider-style phone that includes a 3-megapixel camera, as well as FM radio and an integrated music player.

According to the news, Hyundai’s UK mobile division would expect to be able to account for around three to five percent of the British market during its first five years of existence. The company also launched a UK site for its mobile division, but it is still under construction.
