People in North-East England now seem to have their hands full with trying to figure out the mystery of the vanishing pigeons.
Apparently, recent racing events involving these birds have led to hundreds of them virtually disappearing into thin air, as nobody can say for sure why it is that the pigeons abandoned the course and set out to explore other regions.
Most people claim that it is the summer weather which needs be held responsible for turning these birds into utter rebels willing to abide by anything but racing rules and regulations. On the other hand, experiments carried out at a military basis close by could have also disrupted their natural sense of orientation.
Last, but not least, certain birds of prey might also have a say in these disappearances.
Whatever the cause, some people are already talking about a new British Bermuda Triangle, which ignores planes and aircraft, and prefers to go after pigeons instead.
