It seems that we will be seeing more of Hugh Jackman in the role of Logan, as Twentieth Century Fox is reportedly moving forward on a sequel to “The Wolverine.” Fox has already started negotiations with director James Mangold and actor Hugh Jackman to helm “The Wolverine 2.”

This summer's “The Wolverine” has proven to be a global hit, reaching $413 (€306) million in ticket sales worldwide and, at the moment, it is the second highest grossing X-Men film of all time, with first one being Brett Ratner's “X-Men: The Last Stand.”

Fox is clearly really happy about the result and has decided to enjoy it a bit longer, giving the sequel a chance.

With Hugh Jackman as the fierce, razor-sharp superhero, the next Wolverine movie has at least an average chance of pulling some commendable box-office numbers. Jackman has now been playing this character for 13 years, starting with the first X-Men movie back in 2000, and reprising the role for the sixth time in this summer's standalone.

Fans believe that Jackman and Mangold make a great team as they were the ones that came the closest to capturing the true nature of Wolverine in this summer's movie. The storyline for “The Wolverine” sequel is still being kept a secret, according to Deadline.

Comic book fans have already started to comment on the multiple plotline possibilities that the movie can follow.

The two most rumored storylines are Peter David and Todd McFarlane's “Vicious Cycle” in which Wolverine is facing The Hulk, and Mark Millar's “Old Man Logan,” which focuses on Logan's inner battle with Wolverine.

Fan communities believe that “Old Man Logan” is a better fit for the sequel, taking into consideration the popularity of the story and Jackman's age. Whichever story Mangold decides upon, “The Wolverine 2” is expected to be even better than this summer's movie.
