The contraption flew successfully at great speeds

I've seen a lot of interesting videos online while searching for stuff to put up on the site, but perhaps one of the most amazing is this clip of a giant paper plane being dropped from a helicopter.

The aircraft, if we can call it that, is about 45 feet (14 meters) long and 24 feet (7 meters) at its widest. It weighs roughly 800 pounds (363 kilograms), which gave aeronautic engineers a bit of trouble when it buckled under its own weight, Innovation News Daily reports.

When it was towed in the air, the plane swayed heavily in moderate gusts of winds but, after it was cut loose, it managed to stabilize itself. Now that must have been a sight to behold live – a 45-foot paper plane making its way through the sky, gliding towards Earth.

The team that built the aircraft says it will be posting new videos of the flight shortly, so stay tuned for more.
