Introduced almost three weeks ago in Turkey, Huawei Sonic has just been spotted at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) with T-Mobile's branding and NFC functionality.

It appears that Turkcell won't be the only carrier to retail the Android smartphone, as the device will soon receive FCC's approval and will be released in the United States in the coming weeks.

However, Android fans are in for a nice surprise as the phone is now listed as being fully compatible with T-Mobile 42Mbps HSPA network, rather than offering only 7.2Mbps download speeds.

Furthermore, Huawei Sonic supports UMTS 850 / 1900 / 2100 bands, along with T-Mobile's AWS standard.

Obviously, there is no mention about the phone's price tag, but it is worth mentioning that the Sonic is now available as Huawei T20 in Turkey for only €150 off-contract.

Such a low price is possible because the smartphone does not offer anything memorable in terms of hardware, except NFC functionality.

Aside from that, Huawei Sonic runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system, as well as a modified UI that includes several 3D animations that are noticeable when switching between homescreen panes.

Huawei Sonic comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive multi-touch screen and a 3.2-megapixel camera that lacks a LED flash.

In addition, the entry level smartphone packs 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

At only 120g (battery included), Huawei Sonic seems a well-balanced handset that mostly appeals through looks and affordable price.

Although the phone is dubbed as T-Mobile Sonic, the mistake is obvious and the phone is likely to be launched in the United States as T-Mobile Sonic.

Even though it hasn't been confirmed yet, if the feedback is positive, the phone will probably be picked by other North American carriers as well.
