The official CES 2014 scheduled for the ante-press day has been made available on the event’s official website. And Huawei is one of the companies appearing on the list, scheduled to make a few announcements.

The company is expected to pull the veil off some new tablets and one of them might have actually shown up in a filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, reports Phandroid.

The trademark filled by the company is called “PhoPad” and according to theories it might be a 7-inch tablet with 3G/4G-LTE embedded features and calling capabilities.

In all possibility, this is a machine that blurs the lines between smartphone and tablets, much like the ASUS PadFone Infinity, which allows a phone to be slipped inside a tablet shell that acts like as the brain.

Huawei is not new to these hybrid devices, as the company has previously released the Ascent Mate, Ascent P1 and Ascent D Quad. Anyway, we’re just a few short weeks away until the truth is revealed before our eyes.
