Huawei is one of the companies set to bring to the market in the not too far future a tablet PC powered by Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, and some more info on the said device emerged into the wild recently.

The tablet should sport the name of MediaPad, it seems, and will be unveiled to the world during an event at Red Dot Museum Singapore on June 20.

However, before that, a series of leaked / rumored specs on this device are already available, along with video previews coming from Huawei themselves.

Rumor has it that the new device, which would pack a screen only 7-inch large, would still include hardware specs that high-end 10.1 tablet PCs now available on shelves sport.

For example, the device is expected to arrive on the market with a dual-core application processor inside, but specific info on whether that would be NVIDIA's Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip (SoC), or Qualcomm's MSM8660 and MSM8620 chip did not surface for the time being.

Moreover, the tablet PC is expected to hit shelves with a display that can deliver a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, and which will be capacitive.

On top of that, the Huawei MediaPad should arrive on shelves with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on board, the OS flavor specifically designed for the larger screens of tablet PCs.

Undoubtedly, the new device would also include WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, microSD memory card slot for expanding the available internal memory, along with a photo snapper on the back, which might be complemented by a front-facing camera for enabling video calling on the go.

However, as stated above, the only thing that was confirmed for the time being was that the new device would make an official appearance on shelves as soon as next week.

Huawei even posted a counter on their Facebook page to point at the official unveiling, but did not offer further info on the device.
