The device will be marketed for an acceptable price-tag

Since MWC 2014, we haven’t heard much of Huawei in terms of tablets. Now, a few days before IFA 2014 kick starts in Berlin, the company is taking the opportunity to take the veil off a new tablet called the MediaPad T1 8.0.

I wish companies would stop putting out tablets running outdated operating systems, but Huwaei doesn't look at things that way.

For them, it’s still alright to launch an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean slate and ask people to pay $162 / €123 for it.

Anyway, you probably guessedit, the slate is pretty low-range. It comes with an 8-inch IPS LCD display and offers 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. It is interesting that Huawei has partnered up with Qualcomm for this product.

You wouldn’t expect to find a Snapdragon chip in most low-cost slates, but this one has a Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz powering things. Everything onboard is fitted with 1GB of RAM and backed up by 8GB of internal storage.

Other specs include a 5MP CMOS camera on the back and 0.3MP frontal shooter, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a standard 4800 mAh battery. Interested customers will be able to pick up the slate in either white or silver, although I suggest that you look somewhere else if you are going for a budget slate.
