14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese company Huawei has just released another high-end tablet in Europe, the MediaPad 2. The sequel of Huawei's flagship tablet MediaPad M1, the new slate has just been introduced in France.
According to a new report, Huawei MediaPad M2 costs around €350 ($400), and for the time being it's only available in France. However, the Chinese company is expected to release the tablet in other European countries, as well as other regions, beginning June.
Customers who want purchase the Huawei tablet will only be able to grab the silver color because there aren't any additional colors available for the moment.
Huawei MediaPad M2 weighs 310g (battery included) and is only 7.8mm thin. It's also worth mentioning the tablet offers SIM slot for calls, along with many other connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.
The global rollout will start in June
Another important piece of hardware embedded into Huawei MediaPad M2 is the 2GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 930 processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
The tablet sports an 8-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. No Corning Gorilla Glass coating is available for Huawei MediaPad M2.
However, the slate packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.
It's also worth mentioning that the MediaPad M2 is powered by a non-removable 4,800 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
Last but not least, Huawei MediaPad M2 tablet ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with EMUI 3.0 UI on top.
