Leaked about three weeks ago, Huawei Honor has just been introduced by the Chinese handset manufacturer along with its full specs sheet.

Besides its powerful 1.4 Ghz processor that we already knew about, Huawei Honor features a large 4-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen display with support for 16 million colors.

The latest version of Android 2.3.5 mobile platform powers Huawei's new flagship smartphone, along with a high-capacity 1,900 mAh battery, allowing for up to three days of full use, as the manufacturer claims.

Huawei Honor features a sleek, stylish form factor at only 10.9mm thickness and 140g weight (battery included).

According to Huawei, the phone runs a proprietary user interface on top of Google's Android operating system, which makes it easier to handle. A dynamic weather widget is included as well.

Huawei Honor encapsulates the Huawei brand – it features simple-to-use, advanced technology that allows people to share and connect easily. Honor provides a package of features that elevates the smartphone user experience, including an ultra-long battery life, so critical to the performance of smartphones but yet is often downplayed,” said Victor Xu, chief marketing officer of Huawei Device.

It is also worth mentioning that Huawei Honor boasts an 8-megapixel camera with HDR capabilities, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

The phone supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 bands, as well as WCDMA/HSPA+ 900/AWS/2100. However, Huawei Honor will be available only in China, Russia, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

For unknown reasons, Europe and both Americas have been skipped, but Huawei may introduce the smartphone these regions at a later date.

Consumers now have a high-performing smartphone that lets them communicate, connect, entertain and share content for an extended period of time without compromising on looks, technology or style,” added Xu.

No word on the price yet, but Huawei Honor will be commercially available in “Classic Black” in Q4, with more colors being launched closer to the Christmas holidays.
