Chinese handset maker Huawei has just introduced its mid-range Honor 3C smartphone in India. One of the most popular handsets launched by Huawei this year, the Honor 3C will soon be available in India for Rs 14,999 outright, which is about $250 or €185.

According to fonearena, the mid-range smartphone is expected to hit shelves soon and potential customers will be able to get it via major retailers across the country.

Although the Honor 3C sells very well in China, Huawei will have a hard time selling the smartphone in India given competition from the native OEMs, which are launching similar devices at much lower prices.

Even though it might look cheap in lots of countries, Huawei Honor 3C is in fact pretty expensive in India for what it has to offer. Nevertheless, fans of the Chinese brand might find it appealing enough, so here are some details on the Honor 3C, one of the new mid-range Android smartphones launched by Huawei.

First of all, Huawei Honor 3C comes with an older version of Android, which isn’t that bad considering that most mid-range smartphones in India come with the same version, namely Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

However, the Chinese handset maker may offer a KitKat upgrade in the not so distant future, especially that the smartphone has the hardware requirements. On top of Jelly Bean, the Honor 3C runs Huawei’s unique Emotion 2.0 user interface.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, a Mali 400 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. The latter may be one of the phone’s selling points, as most mid-range smartphones in India come with only 1GB of RAM or less.

The 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports HD (720p) resolution. On the back, there’s an 8-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, Sony BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Huawei Honor 3C sports a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and selfies, as well as 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

As expected, the handset offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support. Other connectivity options offered by the smartphone include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS support.

The Honor 3C is powered by a 2300 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated in India. Still, Huawei claims that the battery features some power-saving technology that can squeeze up to 30% more autonomy.
