One of the handsets that Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei has been long rumored to plan on bringing to the market is the Ascend P7, and it seems that we’re indeed nearing its official unveiling.

The phone is expected to be announced as soon as the next week, and Huawei has already introduced a version of this device, in the form of Huawei Ascend P7 mini.

The handset has made a quiet appearance on Huawei’s website, where all of the hardware specifications that it will arrive with have been detailed.

As GSMInsider notes, the new device should arrive on shelves in Europe in the near future, though no specific details on when that might happen have been provided as of now. Details on the phone’s pricing are missing as well.

At the moment, Huawei Ascend P7 mini can be seen on Huawei’s website in Germany with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, capable of delivering a 960 x 540 pixels resolution.

Moreover, the device arrives on shelves with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, as well as with Adreno 305 graphics.

The specs list of Ascend P7 mini also includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot that will allow users to add up to 32GB of additional storage space to it.

On the back, the mobile phone features an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED Flash and full HD video recording capabilities, paired with a 5MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Huawei’s website also unveils that the new device will feature LTE connectivity, as well as with 3G (HSDPA+: 21.6 Mbps, HSUPA: 5.76 Mbps) capabilities.

The usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n functionality was also included in the device, along with Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR, DLNA, and NFC. The mobile phone also packs built-in GPS receiver, with A-GPS.

Huawei Ascend P7 mini is powered by a Li-Polymer 2000mAh battery that can deliver up to 12 hours of talk time or up to 370 hours of standby time.

Huawei also unveils on said website that the new handset will hit shelves in Black and White color versions, and that it will run under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, with the vendor’s own Emotion UI 2.0 Lite software loaded on top.

Now that this phone is official, it remains to be seen whether Ascend P7 will indeed follow it shortly. Previous rumors suggested that Huawei would plan on announcing it on May 5, so stay tuned for specifics on the matter.
