Recently, Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei has officially confirmed plans to bring to the market a handset powered by a true 8-core processor, namely the Ascend P6S, and the device has already received the necessary approvals in China.

The phone is expected to be officially launched before the end of this year, and it might arrive on shelves in China as soon as the next month, though no specific info on its arrival in other markets around the world has been provided as of now.

The handset can already be seen on the Chinese MIIT certification site, where it is listed with a next-generation 28nm K3V2 1.6 GHz Cortex A9 processor packed inside.

Furthermore, the device is set to arrive on the market with Mali-450 graphics inside, as well as with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

Compared to its predecessor, the Huawei Ascend P6, the new mobile phone will retain the same dimensions, though it will be powered by a larger battery. It will also come with the same thin, full metal design as the older smartphone, UnwiredView notes.

Huawei Ascend P6S is set to become official with a 4.7-inch IPS display capable of delivering an HD 720p resolution, will measure 132.6 x 65.5 x 6.48mm, and should weigh only 120 grams.

Furthermore, Huawei will launch the new mobile phone with an 8-megapixel camera on the back, which should be capable of full HD video recording. A front camera is also expected to be included in the package.

The same as its predecessor, the Ascend P6S will run under Google’s Android operating system, though no specific info on the actual version it will sport has been provided as of now.

Unfortunately, it’s still unclear what price tag the Huawei Ascend P6S will sport, but we can expect for the Chinese vendor to price it aggressively so as to turn it into a powerful rival to Xiaomi and OPPO handsets in China.
