Photography has become more and more popular in the last few years and many photographers are trying to make a name for themselves.

Although the latest technology found in today's digital cameras spares you the trouble of developing film and gives you the possibility to take more than 12, 24 or 36 shots at a time, many old-school photographers still use film cameras as their first choice when it comes to photography.

To develop film, photographers use most of the time one of the oldest developer formulas, patented in 1891, called Rodinal. With many camera stores closing, anyone that still uses film cameras is having a hard time finding this widely used black and white film developer.

Kyle Agee from Dr Frankenfilm has posted a video in which he teaches you how to make your own homebrew Rodinal film developer with chemical components that can be purchased from your local store.

Moreover, Kyle calculated that if you used this formula, the costs involved for a roll of film were between $.015 and $.03, making this an amazing alternative when on a budget. Check out the video above to learn how to make your own Rodinal black and white film developer.
