The mobile app and web versions of the redesigned Twitter have gone live

The New Twitter was introduced last week. Even though Twitter made a fuss about it, most people still don't see the latest design and won't for at least a few more weeks, as the site is taking its time rolling it out.

But there is a way of checking out the new version straight away, update or install the Twitter mobile app for your phone or tablet, running either Android or iOS. You'll be greeted by the new unified design with the four main sections that now make up Twitter.

There's an even simpler way, go to mobile.twitter.com on your mobile device. The web app has been updated as well and is very similar to the native apps, albeit with a bit less functionality.

"Last week we announced a new version of Twitter that provides a familiar experience across the web and mobile phones," Twitter wrote.

"We are rolling out the new version to Twitter.com over the next few weeks, and you can see it now on Twitter for iPhone, Twitter for Android and our mobile web app - mobile.twitter.com," it explained.

You can also get a glimpse of the new look and layout concept in the TweetDeck desktop or Chrome app, although it still retains some unique design elements.

However, users of the regular site will have to wait. Even as the mobile apps have gone live for everyone, Twitter is more cautious when it comes to its main site, still the place where most people log in.

Regularly, you'll simply have to wait patiently until Twitter gets to your account. The @mentions and Activity tabs, which were launched last summer, took a few months to reach everyone.

But there is a way of cheating the system, it's quite easy too, just install one of the mobile apps. Either update to the latest version or install the Twitter app for your device if you don't have it already and Twitter will enable the new design on the regular desktop site as well. It may take a couple of hours, but you'll get it faster than you'd probably think.
