Safari users really have it easy when it comes to switching over to the old Yahoo Mail

In the past weeks I’ve written quite a bit about Yahoo Mail and how to get the old version of the mail back, mainly because people were complaining left and right about the newest update that has pretty much made everything more difficult.

Truth be told, I’m part of the bunch complaining about it since I can rarely access my folders anymore.

Anyway, I’ve told you all how to get the old version via Internet Explorer and then went and gave out a new tutorial on how to get the same results without switching out of Chrome, Firefox or Opera.

Talking about Safari somehow slipped my mind, but since someone asked for it, I’m going to add another one for all you Apple fans.

So, first of all, getting the old Yahoo Mail on Safari is extremely easy and all it takes is a few steps.

Go to gear icon in the top right area, which will expand a menu. Pick out “Preferences” and go to “Advanced.” There, you need to make sure the “Show Develop menu in menu bar” is checked. If the menu bar is not visible, make sure you also choose this option from the drop-down menu.

Now, at the top of the window you’ll see the Develop tab. Click it, go to “User Agent” and choose Internet Explorer 7 or 9, since IE 8 doesn’t seem to work the same for me (let me know if it does for you).

Now, all you need to do is open up a page, type in the Yahoo Mail address and fill in your login data. If you haven’t visited it yet, you’ll most likely get the window telling you how Yahoo recommends upgrading to Firefox or Internet Explorer. Ignore that and click “Continue without upgrading.”

Once the new Yahoo Mail is loaded, follow the aforementioned steps and you’ll quickly get the tabbed-version of the popular email service without all the hassle.

As many other workarounds, it remains to be seen how long this one will be active, but you should at least enjoy it for a while.

[UPDATE] Unfortunately, I haven't been able to replicate the results on a Mac.
