Former reality star has “nowhere to take the kids now”

It wasn’t that long ago that Jon Gosselin was one of the biggest reality stars around, and as such, cashing in a paycheck that most of his fans at the time could only dream of. In what is yet another instance of “the higher the climb, the steeper the fall,” Jon has now been evicted from his rented home after failing to make due payments.

Worry not, he’s not living in the streets or out of his car, but a new report from E! News claims his situation is “heartbreaking” because he no longer has a place to take his 8 children with ex-wife Kate Gosselin, who, by all accounts, is still making good money out of television exposure on TLC.

Poor Jon, his new job didn’t pan out

At the height of his fame, Jon was making an estimated $22,500 (€17,583) for each single episode of his now-defunct reality series Jon and Kate Plus 8 that ran on TLC. He appeared in 108 episodes, so you do the math on how much money he cashed in.

That was before the divorce, and most importantly, before his crazy spending sprees and his living the life of a celebrity on yachts, surrounded by models. Like many other regular Joes and Janes who suddenly became very rich through reality television (here’s looking at you, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt!), Jon never thought interest in him would die down, much less that his money would end so soon.

These days, Jon works “regular” jobs, but as luck would have it, they’re not panning out for him.

“It's true. The eviction happened last week. He could no longer afford the rent. He has moved out and is already in a new place in the same neighborhood,” an inside source reveals for the celebrity publication.

“The job at the credit card company he was working for didn't pan out. The anticipated income wasn't there and the situation deteriorated,” adds the source.

No one wants to help him out

Jon failed to make due payments on his house, so he was kicked out by his landlord. He is now living in a small apartment, which is “heartbreaking” as it’s not a suitable place, because of the restrictive space, for his weekends with the kids.

The insider points out that he is not “allowed” back at the house he used to share with Kate, so whenever he has visitation days, he must take the children with him. The problem, you see, is that he has no place to take them to.

Perhaps even worse is the fact that there seems no end in sight to Jon’s financial issues. He’s tried turning to friends for help, but of the few he still has left, none wanted to lend him money because they all believe he can’t pay them back.

Jon is in a pickle, more so than ever before.

He’s done a few TV appearances in the past couple of years, but as it happened with interview requests, these too stopped coming after a while. Every once in a while, interest in him picks up somewhat, but it’s always in connection to whatever Kate is doing.

Considering she’s getting a new show on TLC, we should probably expect to hear more from him too. And soon.
