It pretty much looks like Sony's machine isn't going to do any better this time either

Walsh Bay, Sydney is the place where the Australian PS3 launch gathering went down, where gamers had the chance to have a better look at what's coming, concerning Sony's long awaited platform and the titles for it. The thing is that even if analysts say that the PS3 is going to have a huge comeback, proving worthy of the success its predecessor-the PS2, had, it's not going to happen with the titles available for it now. Further more, vibration lacking controllers will probably be the final blow for the PS3.

Kotaku's Luke Plunkett was there and tried out a few older NTSC titles, available for everyone to try out and some newer ones, but none were very impressive and again, the lack of rumbling for the PS3's Sixaxis was a very negative factor, as Plunkett reckoned as well.

According to him, Formula 1 (the demo) has so many driving aids that you practically don't have to worry about anything else than turning left and right; Gran Turismo HD has poor handling and the absence of rumbling takes its toll too; Resistance: Fall of Man-a good FPS title, would be even better if Sony's pads were FPS friendly (as far as I know, they look and feel like they were designed for anything else BUT first person shooters, but heck, it's Sony's decision and plus, the PS3 can support mouse and keyboard, so Resistance still stands if you ask me).

Now, the bottom line is this: the platform launches in Australia on 23 March (the same as Africa and Europe-both PAL territories), counting no more, no less than 11.000 units (for the first shipment anyway), with a poor title list (because no miracle is going to happen in less than a month) and vibration lacking controllers to make kids learn games the hard way.
