Samples added to Yahoo Audio Search

Yahoo has just added numerous audio samples for the results of Yahoo Audio Search, allowing you to listen up to 30 seconds files straight from the search engine's result page. For example, if you're searching the Internet for Beyonce's hits, you can listen a sample of Deja Vu, Upgrade U or Baby Boy using the Yahoo Audio Search SERP. In a blog post published today, Sweta Raghavan, Yahoo! Search, Product Manager, announced the new feature and mentioned that several other improvements will be soon implemented into the search technologies but refused to provide more information.

"Now on Yahoo! Audio Search you can play samples of millions of songs. The new inline player provides instant playback right next to the search results. There are no intrusive pop-ups or multiple browser windows to manage -- only a 30-second, uninterrupted instant audio experience. And, there's also a 'Select Preferred Audio Service' feature that helps you link to your favorite audio provider directly from the results page," the Yahoo official wrote.

Yahoo Audio Search is not as popular as it should be, although it is a very useful technology for the users looking for audio content. What's more curios is that Audio Search doesn't have numerous rivals to compete with it, but it is rarely improved as the Sunnyvale company doesn't seem to be very focused on the technology.

However, it is well known the fact that Yahoo is a powerful rival for Google, the owner of the top search engine on the Internet. The two companies challenged one another with new improvements, functions or features implemented into the search technologies but Google managed to face the competition with ease. Recently, it was reported that Google has an impressive share of the Internet users as it is the most popular search technology in several corners of the world.
